Activities

This section provides some information on activities associated with the Aspirations Project.

Small country villages are complex and diverse settlements containing different groups and 'communities' based on interest, family, work and education.

Some places and groups, especially those associated with Village Hall, pub, Church and Chapel exist in part to encourage people to meet, share activities together and support and strengthen the links across all groups.

The project provides small scale support in developing activities of public benefit and that encourage a greater awareness both of local and wider communities.

One of the key objectives in this approach is to use this web site as a means of publicising the village, its people and its activities. During the life of the project various activities will be featured on this page.

In the autumn it is a tradition for Churches to hold a 'Harvest Festival'.

The Church is decorated with fruit and flowers

Following a special 'Festival Service' a Harvest Supper occurs.

In Sarn the Supper is held in the Village Hall.

A gentle celebration

The project has already supported other actions:

A evening in the Village Hall viewing old films

....... and using the Church as a Breakfast Bar for a two day walk.

Full breakfast was served to over 40 people

After which the walking group started on the first part of their journey

In winter most activities are indoors but future planning is also a feature of the season.

This group, meeting in a cold Church whilst the snows of winter cover the ground outside, are planning a Springtime 'Picnic in the Church Garden'.
